Ty humphreys

Meet Ty Humphreys, the driving force behind HTM Soccer Training. Raised in Charlotte, NC, soccer has been ingrained in Ty's DNA from an early age. Starting out in the local recreational leagues, Ty honed his skills on the same fields as some of Charlotte's finest players.

His journey took a positively significant turn when a European coach spotted his talent and envisioned a pathway for young players without the financial means to access traditional academies. This led Ty to join FC Sparta, a team that, although did not have the same budget as other clubs, dominated elite tournaments and even competed on the global stage in Sweden's renowned Gothia Cup.

Despite the team's eventual disbandment, Ty continued to excel, making waves with some of Charlotte's top competitive clubs including Charlotte United Gold, clinching back-to-back state championships. His prowess didn't go unnoticed, catching the eye of Japan's Vegalta Sendai Academy, where Ty further honed his skills in professional academies; ultimately, landing at Yaita Chuo High School, one of the most renowned soccer academies in Japan.

Returning to Charlotte after his final three years of high school at Yaita Chuo, Ty embarked on a professional journey. Ty ventured to Mongolia, where he clinched the premier league title with FC Ulaanbaatar and earned qualification for the AFC Cup. Now, Ty stands as a free agent, poised for his next challenge in Japan's prestigious J League. Alongside his professional endeavors, Ty has dedicated himself to coaching, sharing his expertise and passion for the game with aspiring young players through HTM Soccer Training.
With an illustrious career spanning continents and championships, Ty embodies the spirit of dedication, resilience, and a relentless pursuit.

Fernando Garcia

Fernando started his youth soccer career with Valencia, but initially faced limited playing time due to perceived quality constraints; although, he eventually emerged as the top scorer with 14 goals and 6 assists by the
season's end.

Transitioning to middle school, Fernando joined the school soccer team as the only sixth-grader (amongst 7th and 8th graders), impressing coaches during practice with his skills. He went on to secure conference victories, tallying 24 goals and 12 assists from grades 6 to 8, despite missing out on the MVP accolade.

Following unsuccessful attempts of joining Charlotte United’s top level teams, Fernando was later offered a spot on the lowest-tier team, where he led the team to victory in the league and tournaments, earning the MVP title.

At South Mecklenburg High School, Fernando played a crucial role in capturing the 2015 State Championship all while also captaining his Charlotte Soccer Academy U18 club team. Post high-school, during his time at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, one of the top college soccer programs in the country, Fernando played in 17 games, contributing 2 goals and 1 assist, and helped the team reach the Conference USA Tournament Championship game.

Taking a gap year in 2018, Fernando played in Mongolia for 7 months, contributing 2 goals and 8 assists. He laterplayed for Northeast Texas Community College in 2019, finishing with 7 goals and 3 assists.

During the 2020-2021 spring season, after transferring to University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG), Fernando played in 14 games, earning First Team All-SoCon honors, and helped UNCG win the Southern Conference Tournament championship and make its first NCAA Tournament appearance in over a decade.

In 2021, Fernando played in 17 matches, scoring 2 goals and providing 4 assists, and helped UNCG win the Southern Conference regular-season championship. Professionally, Fernando played for Des Moines Menace in the MLS soccer draft in 2022 and later signed with FC Tucson in the USL League One, finishing with 5 goals in 8 games.

In 2023, Fernando returned to play for Des Moines, scoring 6 goals and providing 4 assists in 6 games before signing with Greenville Triumph USL League One, where he concluded the season.

Now, Fernando is looking to put his expertise to good use and embark on a thrilling adventure to grow Charlotte's youth soccer scene. His accolades will not go unnoticed as he continues his career coaching and aiding young players, like he once was, reach their full potential.
